Unable to Repair System: The Solution to Fix the Jailbreak with Unc0ver

If you get the “Unable to repair system” error when jailbreaking your device with Unc0ver, here is the solution to repair the jailbreak:

  1. Restart your device.
  2. Go to the Unc0ver settings in the top right corner.
  3. Turn on the “Restore RootFS” option.
  4. Tap “Done” in the top right corner.
  5. On the Unc0ver home screen, tap “Restore RootFS”.
  6. Your device will restart.
  7. Open the Unc0ver app.
  8. Tap Jailbreak.
  9. There you go, you have successfully recovered the jailbreak on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.

Good to know:

  • If your device displays “Unable to repair system” and you cannot access your device’s SSH through the terminal, it will be impossible to fix the problem and therefore keep your tweaks, themes, apps… on Cydia.
  • The only way to repair the jailbreak (Cydia) without SSH access is to restore your jailbreak using the “Restore RootFS” feature in Unc0ver.
  • Tip: to back up your tweaks in Cydia, install the batchomatic. tweak.
