According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly approached the company Snapchat (a young American startup).
As a reminder, Snapchat is a smartphone app that lets users send images with a limited viewing time.
Facebook’s CEO reportedly offered more than 1 billion dollars, which is quite a substantial sum when compared with Instagram, which Facebook acquired for 1 billion dollars.
Facebook wanted to get closer to Snapchat because its user base is growing. On the other hand, on the side of the students at Stanford University who created the app, the acquisition was refused.
