Apple Launches a New MacBook and the Apple Watch

Apple just unveiled a new MacBook and a new watch, the Apple Watch, during its keynote. Apple’s new computer is extremely thin and features a new keyboard and Trackpad that make typing faster and more precise. In addition, the MacBook has a connector that lets you use cables such as HDMI, but also charge the computer or plug in a USB cable. Apple then presented the Apple Watch along with its features and price.

THE NEW MACBOOK

 

Apple has unveiled a new MacBook, which stands as the latest model in the Mac lineup, replacing the Unibody MacBook (white, a bit cheap-looking). The new MacBook weighs just 920 g and is 1.3 cm thick, which is a revolution in the world of micro computing. The MacBook Air already had a slim profile, and now Apple is releasing a computer that is simple, powerful, and easy to carry. The only drawback of the MacBook would be its single port, which serves both to charge it and to plug in a USB, HDMI, VGA cable… Oh wait, I forgot: the headphone jack is there, thank goodness! In short, Apple has still created a keyboard that is easier to type on, with a size that takes up the entire width of the computer, and has launched “Force Touch,” the new Apple Trackpad, which would also allow faster navigation with a “truly unique” touch.

What I personally think about this new product is that it has no real purpose, because a MacBook Pro is bigger and larger! Oh yes, but more powerful, with USB and HDMI ports at least. But looking at the MacBook Air, one wonders why Apple is trying to create yet another MacBook Air-like model that seems pointless.

The pros: the marketing surrounding the product, the gold color, and how easy it is to carry, which makes you really want to buy this new product. On the other hand, the price is a headache! Starting at 1,449 €, yes! Novelty comes at a price all the same at Apple…

THE APPLE WATCH

Apple’s new flagship product of the past few months was shown at the Keynote with new features. The possibility of: unlocking a door with your watch, ordering a taxi with Uber, viewing your plane ticket… And reading the time with magnificent Watch Faces by Apple. The Apple Watch comes in three models. The base price is 400 euros for the “Apple Watch Sport” (starting at…), then 649 € (starting at…) for the “Apple Watch” and finally 11,000 € for the “Apple Watch Edition”!

I’ll let you form your own opinion, but for an iPod Nano with a few extra features, it’s a total rip-off: going from 150 € to 400 € just for the Apple Watch Sport, and from 150 to 650 euros between the iPod Nano and the Apple Watch…!
