YouTube, the American online video giant, has decided to start cleaning up ad blockers. Adblock, one of the largest ad-blocking tools on the internet, has just been blocked by the American company YouTube. Some users of the Twitter platform reported overnight that ads were reappearing on YouTube even with Adblock enabled.
The principle YouTube used to serve ads even with an ad blocker is to display a YouTube video as an advertisement in place of the video being played, and then to resume the original video. No ad blocker can therefore manage to block the ad. We are still awaiting a reaction from the company AdBlock. For now in France, ads are still blocked thanks to Adblock.
