Japanese toilets are expensive, highly functional gadgets equipped with an advanced control system. They are capable of playing music and entertaining every user. The only problem is that managing the toilet can be quite complicated, as it is often fitted with dozens of buttons whose purpose is not obvious at first glance. It is therefore no surprise that local developers have decided to simplify the interface and release an Android app that lets you control the toilet via Bluetooth.

Lixil is the company planning to release three new Satis toilets controlled by a smartphone in spring 2013. The program lets each user set a particular piece of music, adjust other personal settings, including the wash water, and raise the toilet seat. The (Android) app provides a report on the toilet’s data and a calendar program for the user’s activities.
